The Black Lung
A downloadable game
Entombed in a Mark-IV Excavator, you breathe stale, diesel-choked air inside a rusting iron coffin. Above lies seven kilometers of crushing granite; the tectonic weight makes the hull scream. You are an intruder in the deep earth, grinding through rock that pulses and bleeds. Ancient things have slumbered here for eons in the dark, and now they are listening to your engine.
The Black Lung is a brutal, solo micro card crawler of claustrophobia and death. Your mission is to map a grid of face-down cards, secure four anomalous Isotopes, and drag your leaking rig back to the drop zone before your engine dies or your mind breaks.
The Company doesn't care about your survival, and the geology actively hates you. Make peace with the fact that this game is built to crush you
THE GRIND
- Navigate a randomly generated 6x6 grid. Every card you flip costs precious Fuel. Every space you backtrack burns oxygen you don't have
- The only way to keep your engine running is to hunt the unimaginable horrors of the deep and siphon their bio-fuel.
- Securing an Isotope grants your rig a powerful mechanical boon... or a permanent curse.
- Stopping to weld your hull or over-clock your drill makes noise. Make too much noise, and the dark backfills behind you.
WHAT YOU NEED TO PLAY
- A standard deck of playing cards (Jokers removed)
- A set of polyhedral dice, including three 6-sided dice
- A token to represent your Excavator
- Pen and paper to track your stats (Iron, Nerve, Armour, and Fuel)
